"How changes in technology impact on the way humans communicate, and the ethical issues that surround these changes".For over a century now, technology has extensively changed and advanced every aspect of human life. With the revolutionised advancement of electronic gadgets, long distances communication has become more convenient and easy. Moreover, applications are improving communication process and help society to become closer. According to Spector, Merrill, Elen and Bishop (2014, p. 440), today the people have numerous high tech advance devices such as iPad, laptop, and web cam which help them set up the communication worldwide through e-mail, video conferencing and instant messages. Furthermore, evolution in technology has benefited in fast, easy and cheap communication because internet is the only thing that is needed for online communication. Also, disability people also get benefited with technology advances as there are many special applications and devices which help them to communicate. Social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Snapchat are widely used by people to get in touch with their family, colleagues and friends. In addition to these, smart phones have so many social applications and features which can be used for instant messaging and communication all around the world. Although there are numerous benefits of technology but there is plethora of ethical concerns which are arises due to evolution of technology which is impacting on the way people communicate. Firstly, privacy has considerably effected as flow of personal details and information through internet is highly uncontrollable and due to social networking websites, it can be effortlessly accessible (Lawstuff, 2015). Secondly, lack of face to face communication among family and friends, for instance, when people go out for dinner and wait for their food, however instead of communicating they just engage on their phone and use social online applications which leads to anti-social concern of technology. Lastly, cyber bulling is also the ethical concern of technology on social media platforms. For instance, more than 30% of teenagers claimed that they have experienced of continuous bullying on the internet (Adomi, 2011). Great work, Heba ! I agree with you in saying that technology has definitely benefited in fast, easy and cheap communication between people and also a very valid point made about the easiness of communicating via the Internet.
